I have been exposed to anime much during my life. During my younger years,
Pokemon was still a big trend, and as a result, I couldn't get enough of it.
I had tons of merchandise, A few games, and had the show on DVD. Much later in
my life, I would go on to find a more broad genre of this animation/comedy style, and
would go on to watch lots of it. That being said, here are some of my absolute favorite
anime shows that I have seen since becoming a fan of the genre.

Fate/Stay Night (2006)

For starters, this show has the best opening I have ever fucking heard. A lot of people
will tell you to skip this show when trying to watch the Fate series. Why? Because they are
a bunch of whiny babies that decide they would rather start from a later adaptation of the series
rather than watch the one that explains the show to the viewer due to the fact that "Oh, it doesnt look
as good as the new ones" or "Oh, the new ones are more accurate to the Alternate routes of the
original show" Yeah, thats because the show came out in fucking 2006. Of course it doesnt look modern
and doesnt go into the other routes, they didnt expect the show to get big so they wanted to adapt as much
as they could into one show. I tried to start off with UBW and Zero and didnt understand shit, so then I
decided to start with Fate/Stay Night instead. It was an absolutely fantastic show and I am now a big fan
of the entire franchise. The show is about a boy named Shirou who when confronted with death,
is saved by the heoric spirit of King Arthur Himself, only King Arthur is a cute Anime Girl, because Japan.

Shin Seiki Evangelion (1995)
(Often referred to as "Neon Genesis" due to poor localization)

First of all, DO NOT watch the netflix version of this show, it's fucking shit.. I'm not saying to spend
hundreds on the official DVD sets or anything like I did, but I am sure you can find a way to watch the
original ADV Films Sub/Dub version (Whatever you choose). That aside, I watched this show during
an incredibly depressing and lonely time in my life so I am sure that theres some bias floating around
in my head, but its a truly amazing show that once had an intense underground fanbase (Now full
of toxic imbeciles, again thanks Netflix). The show starts off seeming like your standard Mecha
show, our MC Shinji Ikari is introduced and is told he must pilot a giant Robot, however,
the show takes an incredibly dark twist and the plot becomes centered on much darker things.

Clannad and Clannad After Story (2007)

Oh boy. Where do I even start. Just listening to the Opening for Clannad's second season "Clannad: After Story" Is
Already making me want to cry. Clannad is a slice of life about growing up, It starts out as a simple show
about making friends and accomplishing your dreams, but by the second season, the show really pushes
the idea of overcoming whatever obstacles life may bring, and my oh my does it bring tears to the eyes of
everyone watching. I highly reccomend Clannad, as it has lots of upbeat and happy moments, in a
balance of devastating tradgedy, with some comic relief thrown in.
